Annie Oakley was an American sharpshooter, entertainer, and a true pioneer for women. She was known for her incredible marksmanship, her trick shooting, and her feud with Buffalo Bill Cody.

Annie Oakley was born Phoebe Ann Mosey on August 13, 1860, in Darke County, Ohio. She was the sixth of eight children. Her father was a farmer, and her mother was a homemaker. Annie's childhood was spent on the family farm, where she developed a love for the outdoors and a passion for shooting.

Annie's father taught her how to shoot at a young age. She quickly became a skilled marksman, and she began competing in local shooting competitions. In 1882, she met Frank Butler, a professional sharpshooter. Butler was impressed by Annie's skill, and he invited her to join his traveling Wild West show.

Annie Oakley quickly became a star of the Wild West show. She was known for her trick shooting, which included shooting targets while standing on horseback, blindfolded, and upside down. She was also known for her feud with Buffalo Bill Cody. Cody was the owner of the Wild West show, and he was often jealous of Annie's popularity. Cody would often try to sabotage Annie's performances, but she always managed to outshoot him.

In 1887, Annie Oakley married Frank Butler. The couple toured the world together, performing in Wild West shows. They also had a daughter, who they named Grace. Annie Oakley continued to perform until 1926, when she retired due to ill health. She died in 1926 at the age of 66.

Annie Oakley was a true pioneer for women. She broke down barriers and proved that women were just as capable as men. She was an inspiration to women all over the world, and her legacy continues to inspire today.
